Gainesville Heat is pleased to announce it’s return for a 4th season. The team took a year off for owner, Rosalind Williams, to take time to start her family and revamp the organization. Rosalind Williams, also a Site Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County, is excited about the new year. The organization has hired a new General Manager, Qymane Brawner, a Gainesville native, and is pleased to have Chuck Graham return as Head Coach for the team. Gainesville Heat is currently looking for new Associate Coaches to join the team and help lead, along side Coach Graham, the team down the road to the ABA Championships.
The team will host tryouts to rebuild the roster, and the first tryout will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 12 noon. Tryouts will be held in the Ministry Center of Lakewood Baptist Church.
In August the team will host their first “Play for Your Cause Tournament” on July 30th, 2016. This event is open to both youth and adult teams, and each team will have the opportunity to compete to raise funds for the cause of their choice. Gainesville Heat will use this day to announce their new roster, and their team will play to raise money for Breast Cancer. During this event, Gainesville Heat will also be partnering with local barbers to provide free hair cuts to young males before they return to school, give out school supplies, provide young lady survival tool kits, and much more! Vendors are welcomed to this event, as it will be a special treat for the entire community.
