The Twin City Jazz have already generated a mild buzz around Monroe, Minden, the ABA and the great state of Louisiana. The Jazz have been spotted out and about lending a helping hand wherever possible. “The team held 3 tryouts in Monroe, LA that where open to the public.80% of the Jazz roster where selected from these tryouts,” stated Tjuan Benafactor. The players who didn’t come from the tryouts are Jordan Lunz who played last season with the organization and was the starting point guard when they where the West Virginia Wildcatz, Keenan Gaskins who was spotted by the TCJ staff early on, Ladon Carter who’s skills on the court proceeded him & Joseph Weimeir who came over to the Jazz after being with an ABA organization based out of Chicago last season.
Team GM Curtis Gill added ” We have a complete well rounded team, and a complete well rounded staff we are looking forward to helping Monroe & surrounding areas grow and what better way then by providing opportunities for our young people of Louisiana”
The Twin City Jazz have also put on a music showcase & record release party, car wash’s, hot dog sales which they have aptly named there speciality chilli dog “Jazzy Dog’s”, plus various other events.
When asked about the Jazz’s number of events & community involvement Lajuana Logan said ” we are here to help everyone get a little more jazzy & stay jazzy. It’s all attitude a smile goes along way & so does a helping hand and a non judgemental ear. We just want everyone to know we are here for them. Unity is magic, so let’s all unite and help each other & ourselves together”.
The Jazz are guided by head coach & defensive basketball strategy guru Montrell Ambers. Already under coach Ambers the Twin City Jazz are predicted to make a strong run for the ABA Championship this year, and what a year to do it in with this being the historic leagues 50th anniversary season! But to get to the ABA final four the Jazz must first become the ABA Louisiana division champions.
The excitement is definitely building and the Twin City Jazz are chumping at the bit & are ready to go!
