The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has cancelled the first round of its Divisional Playoffs scheduled to begin Saturday, March 14th. “It would be irresponsible to expose players, coaches, fans, press/media and others to the potential ofcatching or spreading the coronavirus,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “This is a national healthcrisis and the wise thing to do. We will evaluate the situation and determine shortly if we will have the playin rounds with or without fans and the ABA Final Eight scheduled forBinghamton NY in mid-April and will post additional information shortly. We thank our many fans for their support and encourage them to follow the guidelines for good health and hygiene set out by our very capable health experts.”
