ABA LEAGUE AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES  FIRST TEAM -MELBOURNE MANTA

Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that ABA League Australia added its first team
to the league which will begin play in 2019, the Melbourne Manta.  “Obviously, we are very excited about this,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.  “C.J. Henderson, CEO of ABA Australia, has worked long and hard putting the league together there with some exciting and creative innovations that will insure the success of the league.  We couldn’t be happier.”
The team will be owned by Brian Vaughn, former NBA Milwaukee Bucks player who has been a coach and youth mentor
in Australia for many years.  He started the Maribyrnong Sports Academy in 2007 and his program is recognized as one of the top programs in Australia producing more than 45 athletes to play US college basketball as well as several Australian
National Team players and numerous state team players.  Vaughn has also played internationally in Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Argentina, Australia and Mexico.
“I have been fortunate to have worked with superstars like Ben Simmons and the Houston Rockets Eric Gordon,” stated Vaughn.  “And I look forward to being part of ABA League Australia as we move forward to building something special in Australia.”
“This is the first of several teams that we will be announcing in the coming weeks,” added Henderson,  “It is very important to me and our country that we do things right, providing quality professional  basketball at affordable prices with well managed teams.  It is a pleasure having Brian as our first owner.”
