ABA TO RETURN TO SACRAMENTO
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org and www.abaliveaction.comtoday announced that the league will return to Sacramento CA next season with the addition of the Sacramento Knightcats. “I really think this is going to be a great organization,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “Spencer Normal, a former professional basketball player turned businessman has surrounded himself with some very good people. And there’s no doubt that Sacramento is a great market.”
Norman, a New York native who played four years of varsity basketball in high school and graduated from Nassau Community College with an associate degree in human services prior to his BA in social work played professional ball for 3 years in the US, 3 years in Europe as well as the NBA Summer League. He also played professionally in Australia.
“I wanted to make a successful ABA pro basketball team to create opportunities for up and coming basketball players and give them an opportunity to chase their dreams,” added Norman. “I am so fortunate to have Lawrence Thompson as my GM and a tremendous woman coach in Ruthie Bolton. We will make an impact quickly on and off the court.”
