CAROLINA COUGARS NAMES NEW HEAD COACH
Columbia, Carolina Cougars Management Group LLC. Today announced that Dr. Kevin Butler has been named Head Coach for the upcoming season. “We are very excited that Dr. Butler has agreed to join the Carolina Cougars “stated Allen Franklin, CEO. “Coach Butler has had a very good career developing players in and out of the NBA.”
Kevin is a physical educator, certified personal fitness trainer, and was a member of the game day statistical operations team with the Charlotte Bobcats and Golden State Warrioirs of the National Basketball Association. He is also a member of the following organizations: Black Coaches & Administrators, National Recreation & Park Association, and National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association.
Kevin was most recently interviewed as a finalist for the position of Assistant Coach with the Washington Wizards of the NBA and the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA.
Dr. Kevin Butler comes to the Carolina Cougarz with a laundry list of achievements that include: two High School State Basketball Championships at Marshall/Walker High School in Richmond, Va.; a Junior College Women’s National Basketball Championship at Knoxville College at Morristown; two Junior College Men’s Conference Championships at Knoxville College at Morristown, and Rutledge Junior College of Business in Charlotte, NC; an (IAC) Collegiate Men’s Conference Championship at Arkansas Baptist College; and a United States Basketball League Divisional Championship.
Quote from coach: I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Allen Franklin, Mr. Todd Miller and the Carolina Cougars Management Group for this opportunity to build (Inaugural Season), the foundation of the Carolina Cougars Basketball Team. My vision for this team is to build mutually profitable business relationships through community service and civic engagement that foster shared revenue. Most of our players will be homegrown talent from the States of North Carolina and/or South Carolina. I believe a successful basketball team is built in three phases, offense, defense, and conversion.

Kevin is a physical educator, certified personal fitness trainer, and a member of the game day statistical operations team with the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association. He is also a member of the following organizations: Black Coaches & Administrators, National Recreation & Park Association, National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association, Lone Star Masonic Lodge #663 PHA and Charlotte Consistory #35 PHA in Charlotte, North Carolina.

His Basketball Coaching Accomplishments Include Winning: (Two High School State Championships), (A Junior College Women’s National Championship), (Two Junior College Men’s Conference Championships), an (IAC Collegiate Men’s Conference Championship), and a (United States Basketball League Divisional Championship). Kevin either played, coached, trained, scouted, and/or developed basketball teams and players for more than 29 years at the high school, home school, junior college, collegiate, professional, NBA, ABA, CBA, IBL, USBL, XBA, and the Italian Red Dogs (men’s), and with the 1986 Louisiana Blue’s of the National Women’s Basketball Association.
