CHICAGO GROOMING CHAMPIONS ADDED TO ABA RECORD-SETTING EXPANSION
Indianapolis, IN.
The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added another team to Chicago, the Grooming Champions, owned by Devell Porter, a well-known Chicago community leader. “I’m really pleased to have Devell as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “He has established a respected reputation in the community for bringing awareness and solutions for youth mentorship, youth advocacy, college readiness, behavioral psychology, gang
rejection, suicide prevention, identity acceptance and community outreach. Quite a guy.”
“To further his impact in these areas, Devell has developed strategic partnerships with corporate and community organizations to garner the resources needed to make an impact in the lives of young athletes and the families who support them and has worked with Nike, World Sports Chicago, Salvation Army, Body Armour, Walmart and McDonalds. He is currently CEO and Founder of Grooming Champions, an organization focused on motivating, inspiring and encouraging hope for today’s youth and adults globally through professional basketball and mentorship.”
“I am really looking forward to being a part of the great ABA organization,” added Porter. “This will be a great addition to the many programs we have going and I know that we will be successful both on and off the court and make a great impact in South Chicago.”
