Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that Cissy
Sherlock has been appointed ABA Director of Diversity and will oversee several new initiatives designed to provide opportunity, inclusion and economic empowerment for minorities. “The ABA is the most diverified professional sports league in the US; diversity is at the core of our existance,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “In Cissy Sherlock, we have a woman who has been deeply involved in the fight against racism and the civil rights movement for decades; the perfect person to maximize the potential of several new diversity programs.”
Ms. Sherlock is currently the owner of Visilibilitydotdot, a multi-media marketing firm and is the Founder of the Career Opportunity Fair in Indianapolis IN. She also operates the Annual Economic Opportunity Expo, is on the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Veterans and a member of the Veteran’s Support Council. Cissi has also been a DJ, a concert promoter, and a live performer with such stars as Cameo, James Brown, Quincy Jones, War and also is the Founder of Operation OpenUP Community Outreach Services, Inc.
