Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added a team in Omaha, NE for the upcoming season. “We are very pleased to have the Omaha Cuttaz as part of the ABA,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “This is our first team in Nebraska and we’re very enthusiastic about our new owner, Raphael Augustine. He’s going to do a great job, very experienced.”
Raphael joined the US Army in 1993 and was awarded the National Defense Medal and played basketball on Post Team 3/69 Armor, Fort Stewart GA. Since being honorably discharged, he has coached basketball including AAU and his organization A.D. Varsity that provides training for aspiring players.
The Omaha Cuttaz will begin playing a limited schedule of gamesthisseason as they prepare for next season. “With this ABA platform, now players from Omaha and surrounding areas will have real advancement opportunities,” added Augustine.
