ABA ADDS BINGHAMTON NY TO EXPANSION TEAMS
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Binghamton Bulldogs have been added to its growing roster of expansion teams set to begin play in November. “What a great addition to an already strong Northeast Division,” said ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “The Bulldogs will add strong competition, create some new rivalries and also make travel easier for several teams. Really excited to have Jim Evans and his organization as part of the ABA.”
The team is owned by Jim Evans, President/CEO of the Binghamton Premier Basketball League, a very successful adult men’s and women’s league in Binghamton. Jim was a Division III NCAA All-American at Nazareth College, travelled two years with the famous Harlem Globetrotters as a member of the Washington Generals, played professionally for three years in Sweden and Denmark and was a collegiate head coach for 4 years. “I am very excited about this opportunity,” added Evans. “Our goal is to be one of the top organizations in the ABA on and off the court. The response we’ve had from the community already has been very positive.”
