PHILADELPHIA’S NEW PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM TO HOLD TRYOUTS
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-September 14, 2016-“We are looking for a few good men, good citizens who will be goodwill ambassadors for the community in addition to skilled ball players” said Roger Beckwith, CEO of the Philly Cannons. Set to begin play in the American Basketball Association (ABA) for the 2016-2017 season, the Philly Cannons are holding tryouts at the James Wright Recreation Center located at 34th and Haverford Avenue on Thursday, September 22nd at 7 PM.

The Cannons played four exhibition games this summer and now will concentrate on the 22 game ABA schedule. This will be the first of two tryouts, and then practice will ensue in preparation for the season opener on the road October 29th versus the Elmira Eagles.
The ABA consists of over 100 teams nationwide, and the Cannons will compete in the Chesapeake Division with the Baltimore Hawks, Trenton Cagers, DMV Warriors, Prince George County Valor, York Buccaneers, Atlantic City Aces, Reading Wizards, Steel City Yellow Jackets, and the Salisbury Bulldogs.
