COLUMBIA RAMS RETURN TO THE ABA
Indianapolis, IN.
The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Columbia Rams (formerly the Charlotte Rams) will be returning to begin play in November after a two-year hiatus.  “We are very pleased to have Karl Wilkes and the Rams back,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Karl has a terrific background in sports and entertainment and his team will be a great addition to the Mid-Atlantic Division.”
Wilkes is a 2nd generation basketball player professionally trained by his uncle Jamaal Wilkes, who played 12 years with the LA Lakers and is now in the NBA Hall of Fame.  A graduate of Clemson University, Wilkes is a motivational speaker for Fortune 500 companies and is recognized as an International Award-Winning Artist and is on tour for the White House supporting the White House Initiative on 105 HBCUs.  He has played professionally internationally and has coached at the high school and college level.  “I am very excited to be back in the ABA,” added Wilkes.  “Player development and fitness are two of my core specialties and I hope to bring these skills to the team and be one of the premier teams in the league.”
