Indianapolis, IN.
The American Basketball Association (ABA) today named Michael H. Steadman as Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships. "Mike is the owner of the ABA's San Francisco City Cats, a beautifully operated team on and off the court," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.  "He is also an exceptional businessman with a strong background in the auto industry having managed several large dealerships prior to opening his own dealership (Autos Wholesale) in 2014. With the development of the ABA TV Network, we felt we needed a strong person to oversee Corporate Sponsorships, and Mike is the right person at the right time."
A native of San Francisco, he grew up in East Oakland and played basketball in both high school and college prior to starting his own company, Safety Floor Installations before moving into the car business.  "I have a tremendous love for the Bay Area and an undying love for the game of basketball," added Steadman.  "The ABA is growing dramatically; I believe it is time for national companies to take notice of the league, the largest professional sports league in the US and the most diversifed also with 75% of our owners being African-American, Hispanic, Asian and women.  We have been overlooked too long and really do deserve the support of the corporate community, especially with the recent announcement of the Black History Museum (www.ntbhm.com) and STAR (Stand Tall Against Racism).
