ROCHESTER UNITED NEWEST ABA TEAM

The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Rochester United, located in Rochester MN, is the latest team to join the league which begins its 20th season in November. “It is really exciting to be back in Minnesota,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “A terrific fit into our North Central Division and in Matthew Fatehi we have an exceptional owner with extraordinary experience.”
A graduate of the University of Kansas with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Fatehi served as a Naval Officer for 10 years as an Electrical Engineer and Weapon Electronics Officer. He subsuquently worked an additional 35 years in Information Techology as a developer, manager and analyst.
Retiring in 2016, he has dedicated himself using his experience as a problem solver and leader to help the less fortunate in society by founding a non-profit organization, Arch Charity, to benefit disadvantaged youth with an affordable youth soccer program. Starting in 2016, to provide a steady source of funding for Arch Charities, he has pursued the development of a for-profit resort and sport faclity. In 2018, Fatehi founded the Rochester United Footbll Club and is part of the Women Premier Soccer League (WPSL). “I am extremely pleased to be a part of the ABA,” added Fatehi. “This will, along with my women’s soccer team will provide funding for Arch Charities so that I can expand my youth soccer programs and possible youth basketball programs even more.”
