EAST CHICAGO COWBOYS ADDED TO ABA 2020 EXPANSION
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the East Chicago Cowboys have been added to the growing list of expansion teams for the 2020 season. “When we begin play for our 19th season in November, we’ll have over 150 teams with record-setting expansion,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “And already we’re ahead of that pace for the next season with over a dozen new teams already committed. We are very excited to added a team in NW Indiana and having a young entrepreneur like Joshua McClinton is an added bonus.”
The Cowboys will be owned by Joshua McClinton, a native of the southside of Chicago who was a three-sports athlete at Thornton Township High School prior to attending and graduating from Southern Illinois University. Following college, he became a financial professional in Business Continuation and Executive Planning. “At the end of the day, I’m a competitor,” added McClinton. “I want to create an atmosphere of winning, striving for greatness and community empowerment. I want my players to be the highest paid players in the ABA; I want to sell the most tickets and I want to win Championships. That is the goal. Winners do what winners do. I am really looking forward to the new challenge of being a sports owner.”
