ABA ADDS YET ANOTHER TEAM
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added another team to its record-setting league which has also featured record-setting expansion for the upcoming season that begins inNovember. “We thought we had closed out expansion for this year,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “And along comes Feed the Family USA located in Orlando, FL, a not-for-profit whose mission is to raise money and school supplies for grieving families and youth in the Virgin Islands after being struck by the devastating hurricane that affected so many. How could I say no?”
Feed the Family Basketball Club is the brainchild of DeVaughan Green, a former college player who has had two G-League tryouts and was entered into the 2017 NBA Draft. “I grew up in an impoverished area in New Jersey,” added Green. “I’ve seen first hand what it’s like to not to have the basic necessities of life and the hope that young people can lose. So I decided to do something about it by raising money with a professional ABA basketball team. I cannot tell you how excited I am and how excited my contacts in the Virgin Islands are.”
The team will be competing in the ABA’s powerful Southeast Division which featured the two ABA Finalists last season,
the Jacksonville Giants and the South Florida Gold.
Thanks,
Joe Newman
ABA CEO
