Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Oneonta Octane
has been added to the record-setting list of expansion teams for the upcoming season that begins play in November. “The Octane joins the ABA as one of the smallest markets in the league,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman, “but they will definitely make a strong impression on the entire ABA.
The team will be owned by Oneonta businessman Cam Hayes, a former Div 3 Brockport football player who now runs year round basketball leagues and is the owner of Blendos Health & Longetivity Movement. “My desire is to establish this new ABA organization as a catalyst to intertwine increased health, wellness and quality of life for the entire area,” added Hayes. “My goal is to spread team
awareness and get the surrounding communities to buy into this mission.”
The Octane will be competing against the Roc City Ravens (Rochester), Elmira Eagles, Syracuse Stallions, Binghamton Bulldogs and other teams in the ABA Northeast Region. The roster will consist of the best players in the Blendos basketball leagues/tournaments. For more information, call
