Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association, Inc (ABA) today announced that it has added the East Houston United to its record-setting expansion for next season. “And as an added bonus, the EHUnited is gearing up to play some regular season games this season starting in January,” stated ABA Co-founder Joe Newman. “This is a very special group, loaded with both basketball and business experience and should be a great addition to the excellent Southwest Division.”
The group of owners will be led by Christopher Jones, born and raised in East Houston and currently the owner of C&J’s Moonwalks and Party Rentals and C&J’s Electronics. Albert
Bocard, a Houston native, is currently a teacher at his alma mater, an an active leader/mentor in youth sports. Cedric Washington, born and raised in East Houston, is a graduate of
North Shore Senior High School and currently the owner of The Cutting Edge Barber and Beauty Salon in Channelview TX and an active leader in community outreach. Jason King, a native of East Houston, also graduated from North Shore High and has worked as a chemistry lab technician and is a volunteer coach and counselor at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.
“We are excited to bring the first professional sports team to the east side of Houston,” added Jones. “We will bring family oriented, community based entertainment at affordable prices. The ABA professionalism and history is the perfect league for what we are trying to accomplish as an organization. We would like to thank the ABA for allowing us to be a part of history.”
