Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Topeka Steel has been added to its Great Plains Division. “We very pleased that Shawn Smith and his group have decided to join the ABA,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “Shawn has a great background in a variety of sports and we believe he’ll do a terrific job with his ABA team – plus we were very eager to expand the Great Plains Division.”
The Topeka Steel is owned by One Distraction Sports Group, the parent owners of Impact Championship Wrestling, Midwest Football League and Topeka Valor Football Club.
Shawn was born and raised in Topeka and graduated from Topeka Seaman High School where be played football and basketball.
