ABA ADDS STARS & STRIPES TO EXPANSION TEAMS
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) has added another team for the upcoming season, the NEPA Stars & Stripes located in Wilkes-Barre PA. “This is another great team in our Chesapeake Division, stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “Isiah Walker has terrific experience on an off the court and really understand what it takes to be successful. Very pleased to have Isiah in the ABA.”

“The NEPA Stars & Stripes is the realization of a dream,” added Walker. “I am very excited to be a part of this truly historic league.” Walker is a graduate of Marywood and Keystone college where he played basketball and received a degree in business. He played professionally overseas and has been coaching AAU basketball for 18 years. While in high school, he created The Firm, one of the best AAU clubs in NE PA and started Stars & Stripes last year which provides basketball, yoga, personal training and nutrition.
“I have worked tirelessly to help underprivileged youth in Wilkes-Barre and have tried to get kids involved in sports, off the streets, and created a strong support network to help with good grades and good behavior,” continued Walker. “I think these things have given me a good perspective through which I am able to reach those in the community.” He is currently coaching Girls basketball at GAR High School.
