ABA Adds San Diego Guardians

SAN DIEGO GUARDIANS ADDED TO ABA

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added another team to its fast-growing Far West Division, the San Diego Guardians. With the Chargers leaving San Diego, we felt that the area could certainly support another ABA team,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. “And in Kenneth Bishop Jr., we have a very experienced person at the helm.”

Ken graduated from American Business and Technology University in information technology. Originally from Philadelphia and a former owner of the Philadelphia Flight, he currently resides in San Diego. “I have the knowledge and experience to become a successful team owner,” added Bishop. “The ABA brings excitement and energy and the city of San Diego needs something now that the Chargers have moved.”

One of Bishop’s first actions was to hire Coach Yohannis Johnson, former coach of the San Diego Sol, a former ABA team. “He is a proven winner, a highly sought after coach,” Bishop continued. “We’re glad to have him and are looking forward to competing for the ABA championship.
