CANNONS SUFFER LOSS TO SALISBURY BULLDOGS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CANNONS SUFFER LOSS TO SALISBURY BULLDOGS
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-November 26, 2016-The Philly Cannons, again plagued with an inability to uphold double digit leads and close out games, suffered their 3rd loss of the season 133-130 on their home court to the Salisbury Bulldogs. The Bulldogs, out of Salisbury, Maryland, carefully chipped away at the lead in the second half, taking advantage of turnovers and poor shot selection until they were able to pull ahead and hold on for the victory.
“We just have to learn to play as a team, trust each other, take better care of the basketball and focus on fundamentals and then I think we have an opportunity to win some of these games,” offered Roger Beckwith, the Head Coach & CEO of the Philly Cannons.
For the Cannons, 6’9” forward, Shaquille Duncan, led the Cannons with 28 points. Marcus Thomas (25 points) and Shakore Duncan (18 points), the younger brother of Shaquille, were other notable contributors for the Cannons, who at 2-3 fell below .500 for the first time during their inaugural season.
The Cannons will host the Boston Conquerors December 10th at West Catholic Preparatory HS. Tipoff is at 6:00 PM. The ABA consists of over 100 teams nationwide, and the Cannons compete in the Chesapeake Division with the Baltimore Hawks, DMV Warrior, Prince George County Valor, York Buccaneers, Reading Wizards, Steel City Yellow Jackets, and the Salisbury Bulldogs.
