The Virginia Storm have named a head coach for its inaugural season in Loudoun County. Former National Basketball Association player Harvey Grant will guide the Storm during the 2016-2017 season.
Drafted 12th overall by the Washington Bullets in the 1988 NBA draft, Grant played for the Washington Wizards, Portland Trailblazers, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers during his 12-year NBA career.
The Storm, who signed on as the American Basketball Association’s 100th team earlier this year, will play their home games at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville.
The Storm’s 10-game regular-season home schedule begins Oct. 29 and runs through March 4.
