For Immediate release: Monroe, Louisiana has a new professional basketball team and the team is hoping to jazz up the city this year. 2016 will mark the inaugural season for the Twin City Jazz as they are set to play in the American Basketball Association. Even though it will be the Jazz first season in Monroe it will actually be the franchises second year in the famed ABA as last year the organization called Fairmont, West Virginia home and where known as the West Virginia Wildcatz. Team Co- owner Antonio “Tony Spades” Speights said ” We loved our West Virginia fans and the opportunity we had to bring pro basketball to the area & we want to thank them for their support. Looking ahead to the future we want to build our franchise to be elite & with that we have pinpointed and chosen Monroe to be our home for many years to come”.

Lajuana Logan a local resident of the area will be taking over responsibilities as the president of team operations. Last season Lajuana a native of Fairmont, WV was the franchises general manager. ” Man, these are some really exciting times for us Monroe is a great place & Louisiana is a great place, God is good” stated Lajuana when asked about the teams move & her new role within the organization

What a great time to be in the ABA!
This year the American Basketball Association will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The ABA is in its second incarnation after the first version played eight seasons before merging with the NBA.
The Twin City Jazz will feature plenty of local basketball players who will earn a spot on the team via local tryouts. Many are hungry for the chance to make a name for themselves and try to move up to bigger leagues.

ABA Media & Ent CEO, Hip hop mogul & primary member of the Jazz ownership group Antjuan “Tjuan Benafactor” Washington, , promises to give the fans plenty of entertainment value including game promotions, a professional dance team, as well as exciting basketball play on the court. Home games will be held at the 7,600 seat Monroe Civic Center located at 401 Lea Joyner Memorial Expressway Monroe, LA 71201

The team is selling Fast Break club cards ($30) which offer fans discounts on merchandise and the chance to participate in promotions, as well as invites to private team events and practices.
