The American Basketball Association (ABA) today released its Pre-Season Power Rankings for the upcoming season. “The Power Rankings were selected by the ABA Executive Committee and the Division Chairman,” stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman, “and it was the closest vote ever with only one point separating the two leaders. The two-time ABA Champion Jacksonville Giants edged out last season’s runner-up team, the Miami Midnite. Rounding out the top three is the South Florida GOLD. For the first time ever, the three highest ranked teams are in the same division, the Florida Division.”
